Earlier, in one of my blogs, I had discussed how to recover when your career gets derailed, where networking was a key point. Here, you can find networking is one of the best ways that you can use to help your career grow. However, the pandemic has landed us all in a strange curve where it has isolated us from one of the sure-shot ways to build and use our network to grow careers. So, here I will share tips that you can use for networking during a pandemic to grow careers while having realistic career goals.
Use Your Current Network
Just imagine what it is to have a network and not use it? Nothing. Yes, we sometimes go slightly inactive with our networking from time to time. However, it is never too late to restart and rekindle the relationship with people and discuss work-related things. Leverage your network as much as possible to draw more attention to your talent, skill, and work. Practicing it over time will dramatically boost your chances to reap more and better yields. Also, while doing so you can set some short term goals and long term career goals.
Participate in the Virtual Social Meeting
With the pandemic in effect, virtual meeting apps such as Google Meet, Zoom, and now Clubhouse have picked up users rapidly. From a striking conversation with a distant friend or family member, the virtual social meeting space has now entered places like meditation, coffee breaks, happy hours, and so on. Likewise, you can use your networking to join along with like-minded people or people who would appreciate and hire you for your talents.
Connect with Authors and Writers
Time and again, writers and authors have become the bridge between industries, talents, and consumers. So, why don’t you seek out some of them to collaborate over something?
Stay Patient
While all those tips above are great for networking, you must maintain your patience throughout. Understand that focus should be on building your network authentically and organically. Understand that such things take time. So, stay patient.
